Spring Surge Predicted In The Property Market

March is here and soon will be the start of Springtime! As we enter the Spring season, potential homebuyers and sellers are being advised about a predicted Spring surge throughout the property market.

Recent reports and data published by UK-based property website, Rightmove, suggest that March is considered the strongest month of the year when it comes to selling on the property market.

The study, which compared house-moving data over the last five years (excluding 2020, when the market was partially closed due to the coronavirus pandemic), showed that March was the month when most homebuyers took to the market, making more enquiries for properties than any other time of the year.

As a result, this means competition between potential homebuyers throughout the month will be at its fiercest, making it an opportunistic time for anyone considering selling their home, to take advantage. Rightmove go on to suggest that April is the second strongest month of the year when it comes to selling properties, closely followed by May.

As the predicted Spring surge begins to unfold in the coming weeks and months, the level of homebuying and selling continues to increase every month since the start of the new year, with properties currently on the market being snapped up by buyers in an average of 39 days, compared to an average of 59 days over the last five years.

There has also been a big 70% increase in interest for properties with gardens, as homebuyers continue to look to enjoy more outdoor space.
