Press Release - Goldsmith Williams rebrands to GWlegal

Published: 04/09/2017

Introducing GWlegal…

Law firm Goldsmith Williams has rebranded to GWlegal.

The rebrand sees the Liverpool city centre-based firm undergo the biggest transformation in its 30-plus year history.

The firm assumes its new identity today, Monday 4 September, as it moves its 150-strong staff to the fourth floor of 20 Chapel Street in the Liverpool commercial district.

Goldsmith Williams was previously based in the historic Mersey Chambers building, Old Church Yard, Liverpool.

A refreshed logo, featuring the letters GW within a vibrant teal-blue circle, spearheads the brand and, according to the firm, represents its fully-rounded legal proposition. GWlegal offers services in conveyancing, remortgage and equity release; financial claims; personal injury and wills & probate. It will continue to investigate new areas of work.

Clients will now also benefit from a new company website - gw.legal (no www. or .co.uk, .com required). This ultra-modern new URL format (in which firms can selected domain names that better suit the nature of their business) is expected to become industry standard for those wanting a more personalised address option, the company has said.

The rebrand was orchestrated internally by the firm’s in-house marketing and IT teams.

Adele Whittle, Director of Operations at the firm, said:

“The rebrand to GWlegal and move to 20 Chapel Street truly represents the company that we are – a thoroughly modern, technologically-savvy firm in an ever-changing marketplace.

“The circular imagery and vibrant choice of colour reflects our vision to move forward and investigate different areas of work. The new branding and websites put together by our talented marketing and IT staff captures that brilliantly.

“Our new, custom-designed contemporary office space goes hand-in-hand with that and will really act as an ongoing motivator to current and future staff to provide the best possible service for our clients.

“We are delighted to introduce GWlegal to our loyal clients and introducers and look forward to their feedback.”

About the 20 Chapel Street move

  • GWlegal moves to a custom-designed 13,000-square foot space in the premium office building
  • The new office will reflect the firm’s contemporary and developing approach to client services. Over the past year, Goldsmith Williams has transformed its online services, including the Goldsmith Williams app, to provide one of the most innovative customer experiences in the sector
  • Completed in 2008, 20 Chapel Street comprises 155,000 sq ft of grade-a office space across 15 floors. Canmoor purchased the freehold for the building in June 2016 and is investing £3 million in a refurbishment programme at the scheme, which includes a significant expansion of the ground floor and reception area/coffee shop

About GWlegal

GWlegal began as Goldsmith Williams Solicitors in Merseyside more than 30 years ago as a small firm of property lawyers. We have grown into one of the country’s most respected and technologically-savvy national firms since then. However, our approach to our clients, stakeholders and people remains very much that of a smaller, local business. Our approach is a ‘family’ one – the receptionist who took your call in 1999 may well do so again when you phone back in 2017. Our department heads have years and years of experience at the firm.

Who are GWlegal? We are a national firm with local values.
