John Jones appointed to CLC Council

John Jones, Director for Learning and Development Goldsmith Williams, has been appointed to the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.

The CLC is the regulatory body for licensed conveyancers which trains, sets examinations for and licenses conveyancers throughout England and Wales. The CLC also has responsibility for overseeing disciplinary and compensation issues.

John Jones has been appointed as one of seven members to oversee the CLC’s activities and his appointment was confirmed following a selection process overseen by the appointments commission. His appointment commences on May 1st 2010.

Eddie Goldsmith, senior partner at Goldsmith Williams, said: "I would like to extend my warm congratulations to John on this important appointment.

"John has masterminded the development of Goldsmith Williams’ own in-house training programme, which has resulted in several members of staff becoming licensed conveyancers. John’s extensive experience and knowledge will be a real asset to the CLC."

John Jones said: "I’m delighted to have been selected to become a member of the new Council and I’m looking forward to taking-up my responsibilities in May. The work of the Council will complement my ongoing role at Goldsmith Williams."
