Goldsmith Williams has announced the latest industry experts that will speak at its upcoming event which explores the impact that the Legal Services Act will have on the mortgage industry.

Under new legislation businesses outside of the legal sector will be able to offer a full range of legal services under their own brand, by implementing an Alternative Business Structure (ABS), which can open up significant revenue streams.

Rowan Williams, partner at Baker Tilly and John Llewellyn-Lloyd, head of mergers & acquisitions at Espirito Santo Investment Bank will provide valuable insights into aspects of ABS.

They will join Professor Stephen Mayson, who is the keynote speaker, for a forum and a Q&A. Break out sessions focusing on contentious and non contentious topics are also scheduled for the day, providing an opportunity to discuss issues with industry leaders.

The Legal Services Act – Taking the law into your own hands, takes place in London on 27 June 2011, and Mortgage Solutions is an event media partner.

Eddie Goldsmith, partner at Goldsmith Williams, said: “This legislation will herald the biggest change in legal services delivery in a generation and could provide a real financial boost to businesses that implement an ABS.

“Having speakers of this calibre at our event is extremely useful for businesses to fully understand such an important issue and think about how they can capitalise on the new legislation.”
