Most people choose a law firm because of reputation, not price. Here are the reasons our clients stick with GW

Most people choose a law firm because of its reputation and not its price, new research has revealed.
According to the Solicitors Regulation Authority, just 6% of customers choose a law firm to do their conveyancing on the basis they were the cheapest. Likewise, a mere 1% would do so because the firm was ‘value for money’.
On the other hand, nearly three-quarters of recipients choose a conveyancer on the basis of a recommendation from an acquaintance or intermediary.
The study is based on a randomised trial of 4,001 members of the public conducted by Economic Research, together with surveys of 1,001 recent homebuyers and 1,146 law firms.
Those surveyed cited a firms’ reputation (42%) ahead of cost (32%) as the most important factors in choosing a provider, followed by location (26%) and a personal recommendation (22%).
While we here at GWlegal certainly believe a fair and transparent pricing scale is imperative to good business, it is our experience (and therefore, reputation) that brings our clients back to us, again and again.
Here are some reasons why our clients choose us over other conveyancers:
Experience counts
The conveyancing process is not just an extremely complex one but emotive, given this could well be your first property purchase and a very special time for you. To ensure your house purchase goes as smoothly as possible, it is more important than ever to choose a property solicitor or conveyancer with the experience required to get the job done.
Few property solicitors can claim to have as much experience as GW. The firm has specialised in property since it opened, in the Wirral and Liverpool, in 1984. GW remains under the same ownership, so that knowledge remains in-house. We are also an accredited member of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme, recognising us as a leading property law firm.
Award-winning knowledge
Our partner and property expert, Eddie Goldsmith, who co-founded GW more than 30 years ago, last year won ‘Business Leader’ in the ‘Conveyancing’ category at the 2017 British Specialist Lending Awards. The awards recognised “the stand out achievements of the most deserving individuals in the...UK mortgage industry.” Eddie is also the Chairman of the Conveyancing Association and is recognised as a specialist in his field, writing columns for various national business publications. Under Eddie’s direction, each and every team member is able to develop into a true expert in the property arena!
Great reviews
GWlegal has a 5/5 rating on Solicitor.Info, Google’s official partner review site for solicitors. Here is one example of a review from a conveyancing client:
“A thoroughly professional Firm whose performance with my case has been excellent. I cannot think of one recommendation I could make to improve that performance. I have dealt with many Legal Firms but yours is the first one that has given me total satisfaction both times you have represented me. Many thanks for your professional and timely actions” - Mr Edmunds, property client.
As with Mr Edmunds, our clients return again and again.

Pioneering technology
In 2006, we became the first law firm in the UK to launch a case management tool as innovative at GWlive. The online platform enabled, and continues to enable, introducers to open cases and follow their progress, instantly and in real-time, 24-7. Similarly, clients can access all the details of their case, from their own home computer, tablet or smartphone, using our app. While other law firms may leave you in the dark for days or weeks on end, GWlegal provides full transparency, in everything.
That’s the GW difference!
