Irwin Mitchell gets ABS-ready
Published: 26/10/2011
As one of the first UK top 50 law firms to announce plans to capitalise on the Legal Services Act, Irwin Mitchell has supported its Alternative Business Structures plans by transferring 81 of its support staff as part of its five-year deal with business process outsourcing company OCS.
OCS will take over the management of the firm’s facilities operations including all document services and receptionists.
Despite the delays to Alternative Business Structure licensing – largely brought about because of the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s wait for Parliament to approve it as the main licensor and regulator of ABSs – this preparation by Irwin Mitchell demonstrates the fact Alternative Business Structures are coming and, again, highlights the importance of becoming equipped to meet the changes head on.
