As the UK continues to stay in lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic, we thought we'd put together a list of some fun indoor activities that all families can enjoy together.

Get creative and make a colourful rainbow!

The nation has come together during the lockdown with creating various rainbows and displaying them in their living room windows for other families to enjoy as they pass by different homes during their daily walk.

This is a fun activity the whole family can enjoy! So come on mums and dads, put your creative minds together and get making a rainbow too!

Bake a cake together!

What better way to enjoy some family time than baking together!

You could even turn it into an cooking lesson for your children. Some classics family cake ideas include fairy cakes, rice crispy cakes, homemade cookies and brownies. Come the end of lockdown, you could have your very own baker on your hands!

Be wowed by the Chester Zoo live tour experience

We all love going to the zoo, don’t we? Although that’s not possible at the moment, Chester Zoo are bringing the unique experience of their zoo to our own homes with a live stream! This is brilliant for people of all ages with it having a little bit of something for everyone, whether it’s learning more about different animals or just sitting back and getting to see your favourite animal!

Get active with Joe Wicks PE lessons

A great way to start the day off for both you and your family is to get doing some exercise! There are a lot of YouTubers who are providing live workout and exercise routines to help keep fit during our time indoors, but the one that stands out most is PE With Joe. Although the main purpose of his sessions are PE lessons for children and students, it can also be fun for all family members to get involved with.

Watch a blockbuster film

Unfortunately, due to the current climate big movies that were due for cinematic release have been unable to do so. However, streaming devices such as Amazon Prime Video and Sky Store have been offering viewers the chance to still experience these movies with blockbusters such as Trolls World Tour and Sonic The Hedgehog being available to rent today.

Elsewhere, Disney+ launched in the UK throughout March and has been a big hit ever since, providing endless hours of content with classic and modern Disney movies including the recent Frozen 2 movie, as well as a range of TV series to enjoy! This streaming device is sure to have something for everyone of all ages to watch.

Maybe you’ve got an old guitar sat around the house, unused and meaning to get around to learning how to play but never had the time to…well now is the perfect opportunity to get started! Whether you’re learning for the first time or experienced in playing an instrument, this can be a fun pastime and a nice way for family bonding with your children, brothers, sisters or parents.

A firm family favourite during the lockdown is definitely playing board games!
