Fun And Exciting Family Days Out This Summer

The school summer holidays are fast approaching, which means it won’t be long until your kids are hounding you for fun and exciting things to do!

Well don’t worry, we’ve compiled a list of some things we believe is worth considering doing throughout Liverpool and London this summer:

LIVERPOOL

Check out new summer blockbusters at the cinema

You’re spoilt for choice this summer with a wide range of blockbuster movies scheduled for release such as family favourite, Toy Story 4 (release date 21 June), everyone’s favourite superhero Spider-Man: Far From Home (release date 2 July) and the highly anticipated, The Lion King (release date 19 July). For something a bit different, why not consider the Floating Cinema (yes, that really is a thing!) that is due to arrive at the Royal Albert Dock dated 4-10 August, where they will be showing a range of classics from Finding Nemo to Grease. You can read more about it and book tickets here

Delve into a new book at Central Library

If you’re a bit of a bookworm, then why not give the Liverpool Central Library a visit? Located in the heart of the Liverpool City Centre, you can delve into a range of book genres that will keep you and your family occupied throughout the summer. 

Learn all about the famous Liverpool history at Museum of Liverpool

This free-entry museum located at the Pier Head on the Liverpool Waterfront is a great idea for all museum goers who want to learn a bit more about the rich history throughout Liverpool from the fab four, The Beatles, to the football giants Liverpool FC and Everton FC. This is a great opportunity to educate your children about the city, whilst having fun interactive activities dotted throughout for everyone to enjoy. 

Witness history in the making at Netball World Cup 2019

Netball World Cup 2019 fever hits Liverpool this summer, who won the rights to host the tournament for the first time ever. The tournament will be taking place from 12-21 July, with all games taking place at the M&S Bank Arena. If you’re a sports fan, why not dive into something a bit different to football and rugby this summer? Get a hole-in-one at Junkyard Golf

Newly opened Junkyard Golf is based in Liverpool One, a short walk away from the Liverpool One Odeon and is a fun-filled time for people of all ages with three different courses on offer to choose from (Bozo the clown, Pablo and Gary). Bowl a strike at Lane7

Lane7 is a new bowling alley with a twist located in the heart of the Liverpool City Centre. Not only do they offer a fun bowling experience but also the chance to try your hand at mini golf, American pool, darts and arcade machines. Enjoy some sun in the park

As it starts to get warmer throughout the summer months, why not consider spending a day at one of the numerous beautiful parks Liverpool has to offer. Sefton park, Stanley park, Otterspool park promenade and Chavasse park are just a few of the many throughout the city. This is an opportunity to spend some quality family time together and to even set up a nice picnic basking in the sun.

LONDON

Take in the spectacular sights on the London Eye

One of the historical monuments throughout London is the London Eye. If it’s your families first time visiting London this summer, then you owe it to yourselves to experience the breathtaking views that the London Eye has to offer at the peak of its height. Monkey around at the London Zoo

Who doesn’t love the zoo? The London Zoo has a mixture of animals on offer to see, from favourites like monkeys, elephants and giraffes to the aquarium, it has it all. You will get lost for hours on end in this animal kingdom. Visit their website for more details. 

Build everlasting family memories at Legoland Windsor Resort

Legoland Windsor Resort is a brilliant day out for young families (ages 3-12) with unique rides, shows and restaurants specifically designed to appeal to youngsters. Relive your favourite movie scenes and meet the stars with this amazing experience at Madame Tussauds. The world-renowned attraction has a whole host of stars just waiting to meet you and your family! Want to take a selfie with Spider-Man and the Marvel gang? Consider it done. Want to take a trip back down memory lane and rock out with rock legends Queen? Go crazy. Want to be in the same room as The Royals and American president Donald Trump? The possibilities are endless!
