Abbey Protection poised for ABS status

Abbey Protection, the commercial legal expenses provider, is aiming to secure approval as an Alternative Business Structure in Q4 2012, in time for a 2013 launch.

Speaking about the new venture, Managing Director Chris Ward confirmed the firm was still awaiting the nod from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) but remained confident they would be up and running in the near future.

Ward went on to highlight the firm’s plans, confirming it will offer a range of services including an enterprise dispute settlement advice service to small businesses. There is also speculation that, once the application is authorised the firm, may look to expand its own in house capability or even look to purchase a law firm.

“The sector is competitive, but I do think that we are in a good position with this,” Ward commented.
